An 11-Day Lucid Living, Dreamwork and Yoga Retreat in Costa Rica

September 28–October 8, 2026
The Yoga Sanctuary and Tirimbina Biological Reserve
La Virgen de Sarapiquí, Costa Rica

Wake up within the life you are already living.

What if your life is not simply happening to you?

What if your thoughts, beliefs, memories, dreams, and nervous system are continually influencing how you experience the world, and you could learn to meet all of it with greater awareness?

Dream Awake is an immersive 11-day retreat for those ready to step out of unconscious patterns, reconnect with their imagination and live with greater presence, clarity, and intention.

This is an invitation to slow down enough to notice what has been shaping your reality, listen to the wisdom of your body and dreams, and become a more conscious participant in your becoming.

You will spend ten nights surrounded by the Costa Rican rainforest, resting at Tirimbina Biological Reserve and gathering each day at The Yoga Sanctuary for nourishing meals, yoga, somatic movement, dreamwork, storytelling, ceremony and sacred community.

This is not about escaping your life. It is about learning to meet your life with open eyes.

What Does It Mean to Dream Awake?

In a lucid dream, you become aware that you are dreaming while the dream is still unfolding.

Lucid living brings that same quality of awareness into everyday life.

It means noticing the beliefs, emotional patterns, inherited stories and automatic responses influencing how you see yourself and the world. It means creating space between what happens and how you respond. It means recognizing where you have been living from habit, fear or survival—and choosing to meet your life with greater intention.

During Dream Awake, we will explore the idea of projected reality as a reflective spiritual and psychological inquiry: How does our inner world influence what we notice, expect, interpret and create?

Rather than treating every thought or experience as absolute truth, we will learn to observe our inner landscape with compassion and curiosity.

The intention is not to pretend that we control everything that happens to us. We do not. It is to recognize where we do have agency: in our awareness, choices, boundaries, responses and relationship with the present moment.

This Retreat May Be for You If…

You feel as though you have been moving through life on autopilot.

You are navigating a transition and want space to hear your own inner guidance.

You are curious about dreams, symbolism, storytelling and the unconscious mind.

You want to understand the patterns influencing your relationships, decisions or sense of self.

You are a healer, artist, guide, teacher, caregiver or community leader who needs time to receive.

You desire a spiritual experience that is embodied, practical and connected to everyday life.

You want to reconnect with your creativity, imagination and capacity to dream beyond survival.

You are ready to rest, reflect and participate honestly in your own becoming.

No previous experience with yoga, meditation, dreamwork or lucid dreaming is required. All practices will be offered with options so you can meet your body where it is.

Two Sacred Spaces, One Immersive Experience

The Yoga Sanctuary

Our meals, yoga classes, workshops, storytelling circles and ceremonies will be held at The Yoga Sanctuary, a modern, open-air treehouse held within the lush landscape of Sarapiquí.

The sanctuary is where we will practice, eat, share, create and gather in community. It offers an intimate space where spiritual exploration can remain grounded in the body, the natural world and the rhythms of daily life.

Tirimbina Biological Reserve

Guests will stay next door at Tirimbina Biological Reserve and Rainforest Lodge, located less than a 2 minute’s walk from The Yoga Sanctuary.

Tirimbina is more than a place to sleep. It is a living center for rainforest conservation, environmental education and biological research. Surrounded by tropical forest, wildlife, gardens, trails and the sounds of the Sarapiquí rainforest, your accommodations become part of the retreat itself.

You will have space to rest privately after each day’s experiences while remaining deeply connected to nature.

Together, Tirimbina and The Yoga Sanctuary create a rare balance: comfortable accommodations, immersive rainforest living, intimate spiritual practice and genuine community.

A Day at Dream Awake

Every day will have its own rhythm, but a typical day may unfold like this:

Wake to the sounds of the rainforest and a live violin ,inviting you to enter the day slowly and intentionally.

We will gather for meditation, breathwork, yoga or somatic movement, followed by a nourishing breakfast at The Yoga Sanctuary.

Midday

Late mornings will include dreamwork, lucid-living workshops, storytelling or embodied classes.

After lunch, there will be space for rest, massage, journaling, quiet reflection or time in nature. On selected days, we will explore the rainforest and other nearby natural spaces.

Evening

As the day softens, we will return to ceremony, community and integration.

Evenings may include a storytelling circle, sound therapy, cacao, a burn and tea ceremony, stargazing or Yoga Nidra before returning to Tirimbina for rest.

The schedule will remain intentional without feeling rigid. This retreat is designed to offer meaningful inner work while still leaving room to breathe.
