Fire & Alchemy a silent retreat
Fire & Alchemy
A Silent Retreat
January 5–10, 2026 | The Yoga Sanctuary, Costa Rica
Fire & Alchemy is a sacred descent into stillness, ritual, and remembrance. Guided by the transforming power of fire, this silent retreat invites you to step out of noise and into the quiet intelligence of the body, the heart, and the earth beneath your feet.
Held within the living temple of the jungle, this journey is an initiation into release and renewal. Through ceremony, movement, sound, and intentional silence, you are invited to meet what is ready to be softened, transmuted, and reborn.
Arrival · Crossing the Threshold
Monday, January 5
You arrive and are gently welcomed into the sanctuary space. A guided tour introduces you to the land that will hold you, offering a moment to orient, ground, and arrive fully. As evening falls, a candlelit dinner marks the opening of the ceremonial field, inviting presence, reverence, and rest.
Day One · The Spark
Tuesday, January 6
The morning begins with yoga to awaken the body and prepare the inner landscape. At 11:00 AM, an orientation gathers the group to set intentions and align with the rhythm of the days ahead.
As night approaches, we gather early for dinner, then move into ceremony. A fire performance opens the elemental gate, followed by a guided burn ceremony where offerings are made to the flames. This is the moment of ignition. As the fire receives what you are ready to release, silence begins, sealing the container and turning the journey inward.
Silence begins after the burn ceremony, around 7:00 PM.
Day Two · Walking with the Land
Wednesday, January 7 · Silence
The day unfolds in complete silence. In the morning, you are guided on a mindful movement walk through Tirimbina Biological Reserve, allowing the body to move while the mind rests. The remainder of the day is left intentionally open, inviting solitude, reflection, rest, and communion with nature.
Day Three · The Heart in Quiet
Thursday, January 8 · Silence
Silence continues as we gather for a cacao ceremony at 11:00 AM, accompanied by medicine music. This heart-centered ritual offers a space for emotional alchemy, subtle opening, and gentle listening, supported by the quiet presence of the group and the surrounding jungle.
Day Four · Integration Through Sound
Friday, January 9 · Silence
The final full day of silence holds a deep gong ceremony at 4:00 PM, lasting approximately two hours. Waves of sound move through the body, supporting integration, nervous system regulation, and the settling of insights gathered throughout the retreat.
As evening arrives, we gather once more around the fire. A closing burn ceremony at 7:00 PM marks the official end of silence. Participants may choose to begin speaking again or continue holding silence through the night and into departure, honoring their own rhythm of completion.
Departure · Carrying the Flame
Saturday, January 10
You depart in the morning, carrying the embers of your experience back into daily life. The fire remains within you, not as destruction, but as clarity, warmth, and steady presence.
